The Holy Scriptures recognized as authentic and those who are not

The Holy Scriptures recognized as authentic and those who are not
1. At this point it seems fair to summarize the New Testament writings thus far mentioned. First, it is only right to list the holy tetrad of the Gospels, which follows the book of Acts.
2. Are then counted The letters of Paul, and soon after, the first attributed to John-uted, and you must confirm the first letter of Peter. It should also add, if it will seem appropriate, the Apocalypse of John, whose expose on the opinions in due course.
3. These are the books accepted as authentic. Among those discussed, but still known to most people, there is the letter that James, to Judas, the second of Peter and the so-called second and third of John, whether they are attributed to the evangelist or another, his namesake.
4. Among the spurious list them instead of the Acts of Paul, the so-called Shepherd and the Apocalypse of Peter, as well as the letter attributed to Barnabas, the work called Didache of the Apostles and, as I said, the Apocalypse of John, if it is considered appropriate: some, again, reject it, while others include undisputed between the texts.
5. Among the latter, some have also cataloged the Gospel according to the Hebrews, like that for all those Jews who accepted the doctrine of Christ.
6. All the above would then be discussed between the texts and we have not felt necessary to make a list separating the Scriptures that, according to church tradition, are true, authentic and indisputable, and non-testamentary and discussed, but still known to most of the authors Church. This will give us a way to distinguish these from the same texts those that are presented by the heretics under the name of the apostles, as containing, say, the Gospels of Peter, Thomas, Matthew and others, the Acts of Andrew, John and other apostles, that none of those who succeeded in ' orthodoxy ever considered worthy of mention in any of their works.
7. Even the style of the sentence is very different from that characteristic of the apostles, and the thought and doctrine statements are in sharp contrast with the true orthodoxy, thus demonstrating clearly that they are forgeries of heretics. Do not be so categorized even among the spurious, but they must be rejected as completely absurd and wicked.
